Prudhomme drives home winning run while Bodeux spins second consecutive complete game
Redshirt sophomore Nicole Bodeux (3-2) secured the win for Houston (20-13) as she tossed her second consecutive complete game. After a slow start, the Fulshear, Texas, native shut down Lamar (18-17), giving up just three hits across six shutout innings. Reagan Smith (6-6) suffered the loss after ceding one run on six hits and five walks in relief.

- Both freshman Brooke Wells and sophomore Jordee Wilkins reached base in their 13th consecutive games, tying the longest streaks of the year for the Cougars set by both freshmen Isabel Cintron and Maddie Hartley.
- Led by freshman Ariel Redmond's two swipes, Houston stole four bases in the game.
- Junior Mandy Esman hit Houston's eighth triple of the season.
- Wells posted a season-best 16 putouts at first base. It's the most putouts by a Cougar since Kelli Montgomery also picked up 16 against UC Riverside on March 8, 2019.
- Houston drew eight walks in the game, led by three Cougars (freshman Maddie Hartley, Mitchael, Redmond) who each recorded two.
- Houston won 4-3, it's 33rd all-time win by the score. It's the fourth most frequent victory result in team history behind 3-2 (35 occurrences), 2-1 (37 occurrences) and 8-0 (46 occurrences).
- The Cougars are 8-2 this season in one-run games.
- Houston improves to 15-5 against Lamar all-time, including a 5-2 mark in Beaumont, Texas.
- Esman drove home her 10th run of the season.
- All four of Houston's runs in the game came with two outs.
- Bodeux's back-to-back complete game victories are the first back-to-back complete games since Kenna Wilkey spun two in a row against McNeese (April 11) and Wichita State (April 14) in 2023 and the first back-to-back complete-game victories since Rachel Hertenberger defeated Oklahoma State (March 13) and Baylor (March 20) in 2021.
3rd | After Lamar capitalized in the first inning, plating three runs on four hits, Houston answered in the third. Sophomore Makenna Mitchell doubled to reach scoring position and crossed home as Mitchael slipped a single into center field. After stealing second, Mitchael also scored as Cintron singled through the right side and Esman plated the catcher with a triple to even the score at 3-3.
5th | Houston secured the win in the fifth. Cintron walked and Redmond singled to put runners on the corners. Prudhomme picked up her second multi-hit game of the season as she singled to right field and drove home Cintron to earn a 4-3 win for Houston.
UP NEXT
The Cougars return home for a three-game set against Baylor this weekend. The series begins at 6 p.m., Friday, before continuing at 2 p.m., Saturday. The in-state rivals close the slate at noon, Sunday.
