Cougar Softball Buries Brigham Young Cougars

The Cougars of Houston challenged the Cougars of BYU on Thursday evening at the Speedline Tournament. Houston won the game bya score of 7-4 and they are now 17-9 overall, 2-1 in Conference USA.
The Cougars rebounded from their tough loss earlier in the day to score the first three runs of the game. In the first inning the Cougars pieced together hits by Leslie Seay, Riane Netardus, Kristen Glowacz (2B, 2 RBI) and Kim Cote to score two runs. In the second inning Houston loaded the bases with Kim Nesloney, Lindsay Durham and Seay. Riane Netardus knocked in the scoring run. Ali McDougall was the producer in the third inning singling up the middle to score Ray Ferreris who also singled to reach base, the score at the bottom of three 4-0 Houston Cougars.
The Cougars of Houston racked up three more in the fourth on hits by Seay, Ferreris and Michelle Keith. Glowacz reached on base-on-balls and Kim Cote reached on error. The Cougars of BYU scored two runs both on homeruns in the fourth. The first homer by cleanup hitter Oli Keohohou and the second by Brooke Cadiente. In the bottom of the inning, Houston led by five (7-2).
BYU scored two more on a homer also by Keohohou, Elizabeth Boydson was the second run to score.
Jenny Johnson is the winning pitcher she is now 5-5 and Houston is now 17-9.
