Rainess homers, Tulimero drives in run in loss
FORT WORTH, Texas – For the second straight night, the Houston baseball team scored its only runs of the game in the ninth inning in its 6-2 loss to TCU on Friday night.
TCU (19-7, 4-7 Big 12) scored two runs in the third inning on a pair of singles off left-handed starter Kyle LaCalameto (2-1). A lead-off double by the Horned Frogs in the fourth came around to score a few batters later on a sacrifice fly.
Houston (15-11, 4-7 Big 12) plated its two runs in the ninth inning on a lead-off solo home run by third baseman Jake Rainess' and an RBI single by catcher Anthony Tulimero.
UP NEXT
Houston will face TCU in the series finale on Saturday at 2 p.m. from Lupton Stadium. The game will be streamed on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
The Cougars' next three-game series at Schroeder Park is against Texas, April 12-14. Tickets are still available for the series.
