SCOUTING THE BEARCATS. Cincinnati is coming off a 71-48 loss to East Carolina on Sunday. Overall, the Bearcats hold a 7-8 overall record with a 0-4 mark in conference play. Akira Levy lead the team in scoring with 12.9 points per game. She is ranked second in the conference and 19th in the nation in assists (89) and 25th in assists per game (5.6)
HOME COURT ADVANTAGE. The Cougars tallied its first loss in the Fertitta Center this season against Tulane. However, Houston has played strongly on their home court boosting a 6-1 when playing at home. They started the season with a six-game winning-streak started with the exhibition against Texas A&M Commerce and then tallied home wins against Howard, New Mexico, Jacksonville State, Louisiana and most recently Tulsa. Cincinnati holds a 1-4 record on the road this season.
CONFERENCE PLAY. The Cougars are looking the bounce back in conference play after a loss to Memphis. After opening play in the American with a 2-0 record, Houston has gone on a 0-3 losing streak with losses with UCF, Temple and Tulane. The Bearcats currently hold a 0-4 record in conference.
THE SERIES. Cincinnati holds the advantage in the series with a 13-5 mark. The two teams split the series last year as each team lost on its home court. Laila Blair led the team in the game with 19 points as Tatyana Hill nearly had a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.
100 WINS. Head Coach Ronald Hughey is only three wins away from the 100th career win. This is Hughey's 8th season with the Cougars and holds a 97-129 overall record.
AGAINST TULANE. Laila Blair led the Cougars (9-8, 2-3) with 13 points to go with four rebounds and three steals. Britney Onyeje closely followed with 12 points and Tiara Young added 10.
