
Houston Faces LSU on the Road

The Cougars travel to Baton Rouge on Sunday
HOUSTON – The Houston Women's Tennis team is on the road to meet their third Southeastern Conference opponent of the season, the LSU Tigers. First serve is set to start at 12 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17 at the LSU Tennis Complex.
Last week, Houston defeated their first American Athletic Conference opponent of the semester, Wichita State, 4-1 at their home courts. The Cougars also swept Stephen F. Austin the day after, 7-0.
This week, Florida Gulf Coast gave Houston their first home loss of the season. The Cougars fell to the Eagles in a tough third-set at Court 4, where Jovana Vukovic fought but eventually fell to Sofia Perez, 7-6, 4-6, 6-1.
ABOUT THE TIGERS
Southeastern Conference contendent LSU hosts Houston with a 5-2 record, falling to #12 Northwestern in their last match, 4-3. The Tigers have also played the Cougars's American Athletic Conference foe, South Florida, and #1 ranked Stanford this season. Sophomore Eden Richardson leads the team in singles play at Flight 1.
UP NEXT FOR HOUSTON
After playing LSU, the Cougars will continue on the road for their next match against UTRGV. Houston is set to face the Vaqueros on Saturday, March 2nd, in Edinburg, Texas.
