
Houston Takes Down Louisiana Tech

HOUSTON â€" The Houston Cougar Women's Tennis Team improved to 11-0 at home with a win over Louisiana Tech, on Saturday, continuing their best home start since the 2006 season.
The Cougars won 4-0 and took control of every match early and never looked back.
Lauren Alter and Alison Mills started off doubles with an impressive 6-2 win over Nadja Manjon and Angela Lorenzo. They raced to a 5-0 lead and laid out the momentum for the Cougars.
Tsveta Dimitrova and Sveva Mazzari clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win over Karla Montalvo and Andrea Perez. They improve to 10-2 on the spring season when playing with each other.
Ana Glumac and Constandena Nicolaou's match went unfinished due to the Cougars winning the doubles point. They were leading 4-2 at that point against Sonia Chen and Claudia Oravcova.
Leading 1-0 going into singles, Houston continued to carry their momentum and dominant play. Mazzari got singles going with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep against Claudia Oravcova. She improves to an outstanding 16-0 record in singles this spring season.
Dimitrova followed up with a 6-2, 6-0 win of her own against Karla Montalvo. The Cougars led 3-0 in the overall match after this victory.
Glumac sealed the match without dropping a game, winning 6-0, 6-0 against Andrea Perez. Houston swept the match 4-0 and remaines undefeated while playing at home.
There were three matches remaining when Houston clinched the match. Lauren Alter was leading against Nadia Manjon 6-2, 4-2 on the third line. Mills was trailing Sonia Chen 2-6, 2-3 on the fourth line and Nicolaou was leading against Angela Lorenzo 6-1, 1-3 at the fifth line.

The Cougars welcome East Carolina to the Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility on Friday, March 30. The match is set to start at noon. We will be celebrating our Seniors during this match.
