HOUSTON - The University of Houston softball team will travel to Stillwater, Okla., to face the No. 25/22 Oklahoma State Cowgirls for the NCAA Super Regionals, May 27-28.
Game one of the best-of-three format against Oklahoma State (40-17) is slated for Friday at 6 p.m. CT, game two is set for Saturday at 1:30 p.m. CT and the if-necessary game three would follow game two at approximately 4 p.m. CT Saturday afternoon.
Houston (43-16) is now a perfect 2-0 in NCAA Regional Championship games as the Cougars advance to the NCAA Super Regionals for the second time in school history. Houston did not allow Louisiana-Lafayette the chance to force an in-necessary game in the regional championship to advance one step closer to the team's first Women's College World Series appearance.
The Oklahoma State Cowgirls check in directly in front of Houston in the RPI projections (No. 21), Oklahoma State defeated Tennessee to advance to the Super Regionals. Both teams were the No. 3 seed of their respective regional prior to posting 3-0 records to advance.
Houston defeated OSU earlier this season, a 3-2 victory in the Hilton Plaza Classic at Cougar Softball Stadium. The two teams have played just twice in softball history, with Houston picking up both victories.
All three games this weekend will be televised live on ESPNU.
