The Cougars (18-4, 3-1 C-USA) improved to 12-0 at Hoff Courts and have a chance to be only the second team in school history, joining the 1989-90 squad, as the only teams to complete an unbeaten season at home.
"The team did a good job of playing within themselves and staying focused," head coach John Severance said. "Before the match I told the team that the only time they need to relax is once the match is over and you're off the court."
Kami Miller and Sarah Reimer dispatched of the opposition in just under 45 minutes, storming to a pair of 6-0, 6-0 victories giving Houston a 2-0 lead.

At the top of the lineup, Loli Gomez found herself down a break 5-4 in the opening set. Gomez broke back, held and broke again, claiming the opening set 7-5. Gomez put the finishing touches rolling to a 6-2 win in the second set.
Houston finishes the regular season with Senior Day as the program will honor Kami Miller, Yolandi Terblanche and Sarah Reimer against Arkansas State Sunday morning. First serve against ASU is slated for 10am.
"Tomorrow's match is a special day for our seniors," Severance said. "Kami and Yolandi have had wonderful careers, and Sarah is playing her best tennis here at the end of the season. Arkansas State will be our toughest match of the weekend but we'll be ready to go."
