- The Cougars haven't committed an error in six consecutive games, its longest streak since posting six straight errorless contests from April 18-28, 2023.
- Climie posted his first career four-hit game. It's the fifth four-hit performance by a Cougar this season.
- Houston won 4-2 for the 65th time in program history. It is the fourth-most common result for the Cougars.
- Boushele's seven strikeouts were his most since tossing 12 against Wheaton on May 5, 2023, while at Augustana.Â
- Houston's pitching staff did not allow a walk for the first time since May 3, 2025 against Utah.Â
- Sophomore Jackson LaLima hit his ninth homer of the season, tying redshirt sophomore Xavier Perez for the team lead.Â
GAME SUMMARY
Houston wasted no time in claiming the lead in its second midweek contest this week. Broussard singled, then stole second to reach scoring position with one out, setting up Climie, who picked up his first RBI of the game with a single down the left-field line.

After LaLima homered to double Houston's lead in the third, the Cougars struck again in the sixth as senior Carsten Sabathia III collected his 15th RBI of the season by driving home Climie. Houston capped its scoring with its fourth run of the game in the seventh as Climie singled to left-center, allowing Cox to score.Â
Â
While McNeese broke up the shutout with a homer in the ninth, junior Richie Roman completed the win for Houston with a strikeout, the Cougars' 14th of the game.
