
Houston, SFA End in Scoreless Draw

Cougars recorded 27 shots with 11 on goal
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The University of Houston Soccer team ended its non conference road competition with a scoreless draw against SFA on Sunday evening at SFA Soccer Field.
The scoreless result is the second of the season for Houston (4-0-2) as they finished with a scoreless draw against UTSA in the season opener.
Houston had its chances as they recorded 27 shots including 15 in the first half.
Senior Cameryn Maddox led the way with five shots including three on frame.
The Cougars' best chance came in the 79th minute when a foul was called in the box and a penalty kick was awarded, but Maddox's shot was just wide of the goal.
Houston had another opportunity in the 87th minute when junior Ava Shannon's shot was deflected off the SFA (1-2-4) goalkeeper and found freshman Samira Minor who was heavy on the touch shot.
Twelve Cougars took a shot while seven players took multiple shots. Houston has posted double figure shots in every match this season and have recorded over 20 shots in its last three contests.

Houston returns home to wrap up its non conference schedule and to celebrate six seniors against UTRGV at 7 p.m., Thursday at the Carle Lewis International Complex.
