Cougars cap season at home against West Virginia Friday
PROVO, Utah – The University of Houston Soccer team fell 3-0 to BYU on Monday evening at South Field.
Houston (4-11-1, 1-9 Big 12) will wrap the season when it hosts West Virginia for Senior Night at 7 p.m., Friday.
BYU (7-5-4, 4-3-2 Big 12) got off to a fast start, scoring in the 14th minute. Allie Fryer scored her third-consecutive goal across two matches when she netted a ball from Addie Gardner.
Gardner added another assist as she found Lucy Kesler whose left-footed shot ricocheted off the post and into the back of the net in the 32nd minute.
BYU scored its third and final goal off a corner kick in the 52nd minute as Sierra Pennock found the head of Avery Frischknecht.
Freshman goalkeeper Maggie Manning tallied a career-high 13 stops on the night to bring her total to 44 saves so far this season.
