Midweek series begins Tuesday at 8:05 p.m. CT
HOUSTON – The University of Houston baseball team concludes its six-game road swing with a midweek series on Tuesday and Wednesday at UNLV.
Both teams met last season in Houston with the Cougars taking two wins in a rain-shortened series at Sanders Field at Schroeder Park.
Tuesday's game is set for 8:05 p.m. CT with Wednesday's series finale tabbed for 3:05 p.m. CT.

• Houston leads the all-time series, 2-1. In a rain-shortened series last year, the Cougars took two games from UNLV at Sanders Field at Schroeder Park.
• Junior first baseman Ryan Hernandez leads the team in home runs (4), RBI (13), triples (1) and slugging percentage (.625).
• Sophomore Derrick Cherry tossed 6.1 shutout innings and earned two saves last week. Cherry was named to the American's Honor Roll for his performances.
• Brad Burckel leads the team with a .313 batting average this season. Against Arizona, the sophomore hit .571 with a home run and two RBI in two games versus the Wildcats.
• The Cougars are second in The American with 24 stolen bases. Tyler Bielamowicz leads the team and is tied for second the league with eight stolen bases.
• Houston is batting .215 as a team and has a 4.68 ERA, compared to opponents' .269 average and 3.88 ERA.
• On Feb. 3, the program announced it would pay tribute to the Altobelli family by wearing a decal "JKA ALTO" with each of their initials on their batting helmets throughout the 2020 season.
• Houston was picked second in The American 2020 Preseason Poll released on Dec. 30. The Cougars finished with 54 points and three first-place votes, second only to ECU, which garnered 62 points and six total votes.
• Houston returns 18 letterwinners and welcomes 17 newcomers to the fold on its 2020 squad. Of those, five offensive starters and two weekend starting pitchers are back from a season ago.
ON UNLV
• The Rebels enter the midweek series after a three-game sweep of St John's. UNLV is 6-10 overall this season.
• UNLV is hitting .276 as a team and ranks second nationally in triples (9). Edarian Williams and Grant Robbins have each recorded three triples this year, which ranks eighth in Division I. Robbins also leads the Mountain West with 24 RBI and is hitting .309.
• Eric Bigani leads the team with a .393 batting average and has recorded 13 RBI.
• The Rebels are led by fifth-year head coach Stan Stolte.
ON DECK
The Cougars return home this weekend to begin a three-game series with DBU. The three-game set begins on Friday night with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT. Saturday's game is set for 6:30 p.m. CT, while Sunday's finale is slated for 1 p.m. CT.
