Cougars host Cowboys in weather-adjusted series; March 19 tickets purchased will be honored
HOUSTON -- Due to a weather-adjusted home-and-home series, the University of Houston Baseball team hosts McNeese at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Don Sanders Field at Darryl & Lori Schroeder Park.
With the change, the two teams have flipped the home designations of their home-and-home series. The Cougars will make the return trip to Lake Charles, La., on March 19. For more, click HERE.
Tickets that were purchased for Houston's initially scheduled home game against the Cowboys on March 19 will be honored at the gates, which open at 4:30 p.m.

SINGLES
• Houston enters the midweek matchup with a 2-1 record. The Cougars bested Northwestern State, 5-3 and 5-4, with a pair of walkoffs in the bottom of the ninth on Friday and Saturday. On Friday night, junior shortstop Kobe Hyland hit a two-run, walk-off home run, and on Saturday, sophomore catcher Kyle Lovelace hit a walk-off single to clinch the series. Houston fell 2-1 in 11 innings in the series finale.
• Senior first baseman Joe Davis recorded a three-run home run on Friday and had a double on Sunday for his 82nd and 83rd career extra-base hits to break the Houston all-time record, previously held Brandon Caraway (82, 1997-2000).
• Junior third baseman Jared Triolo leads the Cougars with a .385 batting average. The Austin native went 5-for-13 with two runs scored and two multi-hit games over the weekend.
• Houston stole three bases in its series finale with the Demons, as Triolo, Tyler Bielamowicz and Drew Minter all swiped bases.
• On the mound, junior right-handed pitcher Devon Roedahl picked up two wins in relief. Roedahl tossed three scoreless innings, recording two strikeouts to one walk.
• On Friday night, junior right-handed pitcher Fred Villarreal tossed five and one-third scoreless innings.
• Junior southpaw Lael Lockhart Jr. recorded five scoreless innings, logging a career-high eight strikeouts in a no-decision.
• Houston is batting .248 as a team and has a 2.79 ERA, compared to opponents' .200 average and 3.58 ERA.
ON McNEESE
• The Cowboys enter Wednesday with a 2-1 record. McNeese won 16-5 and 12-3 at UTSA before falling 5-2 in the series finale in San Antonio to open the season.
• Senior outfielder Shane Selman, the Southland Conference's 2017 Hitter of the Year, leads the team with a .400 batting average. Selman went 6-for-15, recording one double, one triple, one home run, six RBI and four runs scored.
• McNeese is batting .279 as a team and has a 3.46 ERA, compared to opponents' .232 average and 7.67 ERA.
• In 2018, McNeese finished 25-33 overall with a 15-15 mark in SLC play.
ON DECK
Following McNeese, the Cougars will host Arizona in a three-game series starting Friday at Don Sanders Field at Darryl & Lori Schroeder Park. Fans should note the Saturday and Sunday game times have changed to 7:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m., respectively.
On Saturday, the first 500 fans who bring their ticket from the Houston-USF men's basketball game will get in for free, with the next 500 getting half-priced tickets while supplies last.
PARKING IN 2019
Gameday parking is offered in a different capacity than in prior years. Anyone entering Lot 16B (across the street from right field) will be subjected to paying a third party company employed by campus. This lot will no longer be an option for free parking on gamedays. All other lots surrounding the stadium will be free of charge two hours prior to first pitch.
