The pair met Durkin/Ho of Rice in the final match and after a back-and-forth affair fell just short, 5-7.
SINGLES PLAY
For the second consecutive day the Cougars dominated the singles court. After battling through a two-tiebreaker victory on Friday, Dimitrova returned Saturday to face Carla Cerdan of UT Arlington. Dimitrova breezed through the first set 6-0 before continuing her strong play in the second set, winning 6-1. The Padardzhik, Bulgaria, native will be back on the court against Christina Sisti of Tulane in the flight finals on Sunday.
After taking her Friday match to a third set, Mazzari left no doubt on Saturday in her straight set win over Kylee Kato from UTSA. Mazzari opened the match with a 6-3 victory in set one before battling to a 6-4 win in the second set to clinch the win. Mazzari will meet Louise Trigona of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in Sunday's flight finals.
Junior Ana Glumac showed impressive resiliency in her singles match on Saturday. After rolling to a 6-0, 6-1 victory in the opener on Friday, Glumac won set one, 6-1, against Kateryna Avram of Northwestern State.
