HOUSTON â€" As the 2016 tennis season nears its end, the Houston Cougar women's tennis team will welcome No. 29 Tulsa and North Texas for the final weekend of the regular season. The Cougars will kick off play Saturday, April 9 at 11 a.m. with Tulsa at the Houston Country Club and finish up Sunday, April 10 at John E. Hoff Courts with North Texas at noon for Senior Day.
The Cougars are returning home from a weekend on the East Coast after they upset then-No. 32 William & Mary 4-3 before falling 4-2 against East Carolina. Markovic continued to find success on court two in singles against William & Mary, defeating No. 123 Marie Faure 6-1, 6-1.
Tulsa will come to Houston after defeating fellow conference competitor Tulane 4-0 last weekend. Ksenia Laskutova joined the national singles rankings this week for the Hurricanes at the No. 121 spot with a 9-2 record in the dual season.
