HOW IT HAPPENED
Glumac advanced in the consolation bracket after a pair of big wins on Friday against Ansley Boarman of ACU (6-4, 6-0) and Laura Cabrera of UTSA (7-5, 6-1). On Saturday, Glumac was locked in from the beginning against Valeria Lopez from UT Arlington. After Lopez went up 1-0 in the first set, Glumac battled back to take a 5-2 lead after a couple of holds and breaks. Glumac dropped the next game, but answered with another hold of serve to win set one 6-3.
The pair traded games to open set two and through five games, Glumac held a 3-2 advantage. However, Lopez was able to come from behind to win the set 6-4 and force a third set tie break. The tie break was a back-and-forth dual with Glumac taking the lead and Lopez answering throughout. Ultimately Lopez prevailed in the tie break 10-8 to claim the match.
Glumac finished the tournament with a 2-2 overall singles record.
