Day 3
Heavy Rain Postpones Texas Regionals
10/24/2015 12:00:00 AM | Tennis

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Heavy rain throughout the day postponed all action Saturday at the USTA/ITA Texas Regional Championships. Because of the inclement weather, University of Houston Tennis student-athletes Despoina Vogasari and Mina Markovic did not see any action at the Mitchell Tennis Center.
With rain washing away most of the action Friday and Saturday and sure to be a threat again Sunday, tournament officials made the decision to cancel all Consolation matches for the duration of the event. Thus, Markovic's singles run and her doubles tandem with Vogasari are both done for the tournament.
Main Draw matches are scheduled to resume Sunday at 10 a.m. CT at the Mitchell Tennis Center; however, contingency plans are in place if rain is still falling Sunday in College Station. If rain is a factor, all Main Draw matches will move indoors to the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas, on the Baylor campus, with first serve scheduled for 10 a.m. CT.
