Houston Continues CCLR Collegiate Invitational Play

Houston - With Day Two of the CCLR Collegiate Invitational in the books, the road to the championship became clearer.
In doubles play, the Cougars produced valiant efforts all around as both duos managed to split both of their pairs of matches on the day. The team of Elena Kordolaimi and Despoina Vogasari first defeated Nicole Breaux and Flavia Araujo of Arkansas, 8-3. In the pairs's 2nd match, they fell to Mai El Kamash and Arianne Hartono of Ole Miss, who defeated them by a score of 8-6.
Maria Cardenas and Tina Rupert fell in a tough battle with Carla Tur Mari and Maria Alvarez of Oklahoma State, 8-6 but rallied in their next match, defeating Marija Milutinovic and Allie Roberts of Ole Miss, 8-5.Looking to replicate her strong outing from Day One of the Invitational, Despoina Vogasari rolled to a 6-3, 6-2 win versus Mai El Kamash. Also picking up a singles victory for the Cougars was Maria Cardenas who took down Flavia Araujo by a score of 6-2, 6-3.
Elena Kordolaimi took on Yang Pang of Arkansas, eventually falling 6-4, 6-4. Tina Rupert faced off with Maria Belen Ludeñ of Kansas in her singles matchup, and was defeated 6-3, 6-4.
Match Notes: With her Day Two victory, Despoina Vogasari is set to face Arianne Hartono of Ole Miss in the "A" draw singles final.
