Soccer Falls to UCF 2-1

HOUSTON - The Houston Cougar soccer team fell to UCF 2-1 in Orlando, Fla. Friday evening. Houston suffer their first conference loss to drop to 4-1 in Conference USA and 9-3-1 overall.
UCF jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when they were able to find the back of the net in the 10th minute.
Lauri Byrne scored the equalizer for the Cougars in the 47th minute with an assist from Nicole Duarte and Morgan Vela.
Six minutes later, UCF found the gamewinner and was able to hold on to victory.
The Cougars and Knights matched one another on the shot total but only three shots were on target for the Cougars. Byrne took five shots and three of them were on target for the senior striker.
Cami Koski had five saves for Houston in the losing effort.
