Cougar Soccer Falls 2-0 to UAB

HOUSTON - The Cougar soccer team fell 2-0 to UAB Friday evening in Birmingham, Ala. Houston travels next to Memphis for Sunday's noon match.
UAB jumped out to an early 1-0 lead with a goal in the 10th minute off a cross inside the box.
The Cougars outshot the Blazers 11-8 but could not prevent from being shutout for only the third time this season and despite outscoring the opposition by 12 goals heading into the second half.
UAB added an insurancegoal in the 63rd minute off a long shot that the Cougars were unable to prevent from entering the back of the net.
Houston falls to 11-4-2 and 6-2-1 in Conference USA. With the loss, the Cougars fall to second place in the conference standings.
Houston travels to Memphis for their last regular season game outside the city of Houston. The Cougars play Rice Friday, Oct. 27.
