HOUSTON, Texas - University of Houston junior tennis star Kami Miller (Glendale, Ariz.), today was named to the ITA All-Academic Team for Division I.
A Third-Team, All-Conference USA selection this past season, Miller attained a cumulative grade point average of 3.52 while majoring in accounting. The ITA standard for inclusion was a cumulative GPA of 3.50, as well as lettering in tennis and having been enrolled for at least two semesters.
Miller's 2004-05 season was one of the best in UH Tennis history. Miller finished a remarkable 35-5 on the year, good enough for fifth all-time in the UH record books for most wins in a single season. Her winning percentage of .875 set a new single-season Cougar record.
In the 2005 spring season Miller also went an impressive 21-3 at the number three through five spots, finishing with 12 straight victories.
The Cougars' 17-10 final record marked the most wins in a season since 1997, when Houston went 19-6, and the 2005 record ranks as the ninth-best winning percentage all-time with a .630 winning clip.
