Cougars will face UConn, Louisville and Texas A&M at Daikin Park from March 5-7
HOUSTON – Houston Baseball will be back in Daikin Park in 2027 as part of the Bruce Bolt College Classic, facing off against UConn, Louisville and Texas A&M March 5-7.
Â
Head Coach Will Davis' squad will face the Huskies at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 5, before meeting the Cardinals at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 6. Houston wraps up the weekend with the Aggies at 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 7.
Â
The Cougars are one of six teams at the event, joined by fellow Big 12 Conference member Utah as well as the SEC's Texas A&M, ACC's Louisville, Big East's UConn and Sun Belt's Louisiana.Â
Â
Houston's game against the Huskies will be the 24th in the all-time series, renewing a short-term rivalry dating back to the teams' shared days in The American in 2014. The Cougars have won 13 of the 23 meetings, including a pair of games as part of sweep at the AAC Tournament in 2017. It's the first meeting in the series since 2019.
Â
Louisville clashes with the Cougars for the first time since 2014, the lone year both teams were in The American. All but three games between the two teams have been conference games, with the trio of non-conference tilts played as part of conference tournaments. Houston leads the all-time series, 18-12, and won the most recent meeting, 10-4, to clinch the 2014 American Athletic Conference Tournament Championship.
Â
Houston continues a rivalry with its third-most common opponent with the battle against Texas A&M. The Cougars have met the Aggies 177 times since 1948, winning 59 of the meetings.Â
Â
This is the 20th time the Cougars have played in the tournament sponsored run by the Houston Astros since it was created in 2001. Houston was last at Daikin Park in 2024 with this appearance being the second since 2019. Houston won the tournament in 2010 and have 21 wins as part of the tourney field.
Â
Ticket and broadcast information will be available at a later date.Â
