Broussard, Sabathia to Participate at MLB Draft Combine

HOUSTON – Tre Broussard and Carsten Sabathia III are set to take the field at the MLB Draft Combine hosted at the Arizona Diamondbacks' Chase Field in Phoenix from June 23-25.

The pair are among 194 collegiate players and 334 overall prospects who will participate in the showcase. The top 300 Draft-eligible players, as identified by MLB Clubs, had been invited to attend the 2026 Draft Combine along with up to 50 supplemental invites. Broussard checked in at #75 on MLB.com's latest Top 200 Draft Prospects list.

In 2025, 256 of the 309 players who participated in the combine were selected in the MLB draft (82.8%), including 87 of the first 100 picks.

Houston's pair of attendees are part of 26 from Big 12 Conference schools with the Cougars being one of nine league institutions with multiple student-athletes in attendance. Houston is also one of five Texas NCAA DI schools with multiple prospects being evaluated.

Interviews with the players and club personnel will be featured as part of the coverage, which will also be streamed live on MLB.TV, MLB.com and in the MLB App. The Draft Combine workouts on June 24 will be streamed across MLB's digital platforms. The full schedule is below.

Tuesday, June 23
7:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.: On-field Workouts
8 a.m. – 1 p.m.: MLB Network Showcase

Wednesday, June 24
8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.: On-field Workouts

Thursday, June 25
8 a.m. – 4 p.m.: Strength and Conditioning Testing

Friday, June 26
8 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Strength and Conditioning Testing

The 2026 MLB Draft presented by Nippon Express is planned for July 11th-12th during All-Star Week in Philadelphia. The Draft will feature 20 rounds across the two days. The opening night of the Draft, which will feature 135 picks in total, will include the first four rounds, compensatory rounds, competitive balance rounds and prospect promotion incentive rounds at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.
