Cougars to play 36 holes Monday with Final Round on Tuesday morning at Trinity Forest Golf Club

DALLAS – The University of Houston Women's Golf wraps up its regular-season schedule when it tees off at the Huntington Bank Collegiate at Trinity Forest Golf Club on Monday morning.

Schools will play 36 holes Monday with the Final Round teeing off Tuesday morning on the par-72 course.

The Cougars enter their regular-season finale after finishing eighth at the MountainView Collegiate at The Preserve Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz., on March 20-22. Svedenskiold posted a score of 1-under 215 to tie for 17^th and lead the Cougars.

MEET the COUGARS
Under the leadership of Carolyn Macow Leatherwood Head Coach Lydia Lasprilla, the Cougars will be represented by senior Moa Svedenskiöld, junior Maelynn Kim, senior Alexa Saldaña, sophomore Emilia Väistöa and senior Natalie Saint Germain. Freshman Sadie Adams will compete as an individual

This season, Svedenskiöld leads the Cougars with a 71.86 scoring average. The Halmstad, Sweden, native paces the team with four Top-10 finishes and finished among the Top-20 in each of her last five events.

Saint Germain stands second on the squad with a 73.00 average and joins with Svedenskiöld for second on the team with 10 rounds of par or lower. The Prague native captured the individual title at the Jim West Challenge in October, thanks to three straight rounds in the 60s.

TEAM FIELD
The Cougars will compete in a 16 -team field featuring #13 UCF, #15 UCLA, #18 Tennessee, #24 Oklahoma, #25 Arizona, #27 Oklahoma State, #41 TCU, #50 Texas Tech, Tulane, Colorado State, San Diego State, Seattle, Cal Poly, Iowa and host #30 SMU.

TEE TIMES
For Friday's First Round, the Cougars will compete in groups with student-athletes from SMU, UCF and UCLA beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Svedenskiöld begins the day in the first groun off No. 1 at 8:30 a.m. with Kim (second group off No. 1), Saldaña (No. 2), Väistö (first group off No. 3) and Saint Germain (second group off No. 3) following.

Adams begins her tournament in the first group off No. 10.

UP NEXT
Following the Huntington Bank Collegiate, Houston opens the postseason when it tees off at the Big 12 Championships, slated to be played at Dallas Athletic Club in Dallas on April 23-25.

From there, the Cougars will enter the NCAA postseason on May 11-13 at one of six venues across the nation. Those sites include: University of Michigan Golf Course (Ann Arbor, Mich.); UNC Finley Golf Course (Chapel Hill, N.C.); Robert Jones Golf Trail at Hampton Cove (Huntsville, Ala.); Stanford Golf Course (Stanford, Calif.,); Seminole Legacy Golf Club (Tallahassee, Fla.) and Ridgewood Country Club (Waco, Texas).

The Cougars will learn their postseason fate during the NCAA Selection Show at 4 p.m. (CDT), Wednesday, April 29, on Golf Channel.

The Top-Five teams from each NCAA Regional advance to play at the NCAA Championships, set for May 22-27 at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
