KEY INNINGS
st | Houston started quickly as redshirt sophomore Xavier Perez led off the game with a double to right center and scored three batters later as Sabathia III drove him in with a single up the middle. After a wild pitch allowed another Cougar to score, freshman Blake Fields picked up his sixth RBI of the season as he drove home Sabathia III to make it a 3-0 lead.
nd | The Cougars quickly added to its edge. Three walks loaded the bases for Houston, and Sabathia cleared them with a grand slam, a 356-foot homer to left field.
th | After Udland retired the side in the top of the inning, inclement weather moved into the Houston area, delaying the game. The game was officially in a delay for an hour and 50 minutes before being suspended and was resumed on Sunday at 12:04 p.m.
th | Houston activated the agreed-upon run rule in the sixth. Sophomore Justin Cherrington was hit by a pitch and Fields drew a walk to put a pair of runners on for the Cougars. LaLima hit his third home run of the year to drive them both home, a three-run blast that put Houston up by 10.
th | Needing three outs, Kimble worked out of a jam by forcing a game-ending double play, securing a 10-0 win for Houston.
