Two-day, 54-hole tournament tees off at Golf Club of Houston on Monday morning; 36 holes scheduled for first day with Final Round on Tuesday
HUMBLE, Texas – The University of Houston Women's Golf program continues its spring season when it plays host to its own Chevron Collegiate beginning Monday morning at Golf Club of Houston.Schools will play 36 holes with an 8 a.m., shotgun start Monday with the Final Round teeing off Tuesday morning.
The Cougars enter the Chevron Collegiate after finishing third at the Collegiate Individual at Guadalajara Country Club on January 30-31 to open their spring season.
Junior Maelynn Kim lowered her scored with each round and closed that event with a 67 in the Final Round to surge into a tie for second at 3-under 216. Senior Moa Svedenskiöld opened with a 68 and joined Kim among the Top-10 leaders at 214.

MEET the COUGARSUnder the leadership of Carolyn Macow Leatherwood Head Coach Lydia Lasprilla, the Cougars will be represented by senior Moa Svedenskiöld, junior Maelynn Kim, senior Natalie Saint Germain, senior Alexa Saldaña and sophomore Emilia Väistö.
Sophomore Chiara Brambilla, freshman Sadie Adams and junior Ellen Yates will compete as individuals.
This season, Saldaña leads the Cougars with a 71.00 scoring average in three tournaments. Saint Germain stands second on the team with a 71.50 scoring average but tops Houston with seven rounds of par or lower, including five in the 60s.
The Prague native fired three straight rounds in the 60s to capture the individual championship at the Jim West Challenge at Kissing Tree Golf Club in San Marcos, Texas, on October 19-20, 2025. It was the first individual crown of her collegiate career.
Svedenskiöld competed in the NCAA Championships as an individual qualifier a year ago and has posted Top-Six finishes in each of her last two tournaments.
TEAM FIELD
The Cougars will compete in a 17-team field featuring Texas State, Baylor, Indiana North Texas, Maryland, Iowa State, UNCW, SMU, UTSA, TCU, Arkansas, Oregon, ULM, Mississippi State, North Carolina and Illinois
TEE TIMES
For Monday's play, the Cougars will compete in groups with student-athletes from TCU and Arkansas beginning at 8 a.m.
Kim begins the day in the first group off No. 1 with Svedenskiöld (second group off No. 1), Saldaña (first group off No. 2), Saint Germain (second group off No. 2) and Väistö (No. 3) following.
Brambilla begins in the second group off No. 17 with Adams (first group off No. 18) and Yates (second group off No. 18) following
