Kim sits tied for 18th following 36 holes at the Golf Club of Houston

HUMBLE, Texas – The University of Houston Women's Golf program sits in 12^th place following the first two rounds of the three round Chevron Collegiate at the Golf Club of Houston on Monday.

Junior Maelynn Kim paced the Cougars across the 6,137-yard, par-72 course with a one-under 144 with four total birdies on the day. Kim's Round 1 proved to be her strongest of the day, shooting a two-under 70 with a pair of birdies.

As a team, Houston sunk 35 birdies while senior Alexa Saldana sank an eagle on Hole 4 in Round 1 for a team score of 13-over par.

Thanks to five Round 2 birdies, senior Moa Svedenskiold finished the 36 holes of action at even par.

As an individual, Ellen Yates buried five birdies in Round 2 to lower her score to just one-over par.

TEE TIMES
For Tuesday's Final Round, the Cougars will compete in groups with student-athletes from beginning at 8 a.m.

Kim will tee off on 10 while senior Natalie Saint Germain and Svedenskiold will tee off from 11, and Saldana and sophomore Emilia Väistö tee off from 12. Individual junior Ellen Yates will tee off from 16, while freshman Sadie Adams starts from 17 and redshirt freshman Chiara Brambilla begins Round 3 from 18.

Following the Chevron Collegiate, Houston competes at the Lady Luck Invitational at Las Vegas Country Club in Las Vegas on March 2-3.
