Cougars Earn First Team Academic Excellence Award

HOUSTON – Houston Baseball was named one of 440 college programs to earn the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award, announced Wednesday which recognizes programs outstanding academic achievement after accumulating a 3.20 GPA.

Aided by 32 student-athletes with 3.0 GPAs in the spring term, Houston posted a team spring term GPA of 3.27. Two Cougars posted 4.0 GPAs and 20 posted 3.5+ GPAs.

The award marks the Cougars' first ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award, first introduced in 2016. Houston was one of nine Big 12 Conference programs to earn the award.

Team must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a 4.0 scale for the 2024-25 academic year.
