Cougars Crush Four Home Runs Again

Houston scores double digit runs in third-straight game, blanks Grambling State
Houston (10-4) hit back-to-back home runs in the third inning on back-to-back pitches. Junior Cade Climie hit a no-doubter to left field and then the next pitch sophomore Riley Jackson hit an opposite field line drive home run to right field.
Sophomore Xavier Perez hit his fourth home run of the season in the fifth inning, a 433-foot towering shot over the Sanders-Gutierrez Scoreboard in right-center field. The 433-foot home run is the longest at home by a Cougar this season. Perez finished the night a double shy of the cycle with his third multi-RBI game of the year.
Senior Graysen Drezek (2-0) pitched superbly in a career-long 6.0 innings with four strikeouts while allowing just two hits. Drezek has earned the win in every game he has pitched into the fifth inning.
Drezek, sophomore Alex Solis and junior David Stich combined for the Houston's first shutout of the season and allowed a season-low two hits by Grambling State (4-9).

Houston concludes the series against Grambling on Sunday at Don Sanders Field at Darryl and Lori Schroeder Park. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ at 1 p.m.
