Bryant Hiskey II Finishes Second at UHV Claud Jacobs Invitational

Junior earns career-best finish and falls just shy of first career title on second playoff hole
VICTORIA, Texas – University of Houston Men's golf junior Bryant Hiskey II closed the UHV Claud Jacobs Invitational with an even-par 72 before falling on the second hole of a playoff at Victoria Country Club on Tuesday afternoon.
Hiskey was one of four Cougars competing as individuals on the par-72 course layout. All four finished among the Top-Eight leaders with junior Ruben Lindsay standing third at 211 and sophomore Grant Doggett in fourth at 213. Freshman Hsuan-Yi Chen tied for eight at even-par 216.
Hiskey opened the tournament with a career-low 67, thanks to five birdies and an eagle, and followed that a 69 in the afternoon session Monday. He topped his previous low of 70, set during the First Round of the Bentwater Intercollegiate (Feb. 10, 2025) and the Second Round of the Border Olympics (Feb. 19, 2024).
Tied after 54 holes, he joined Texas Wesleyan's Bryan DeJonge in a playoff but lost on the second hole.
Hiskey's finish was a career best and topping his 14th-place showing at the Houston Classic (Feb. 12-13, 2024).
Lindsay fired three straight sub-par rounds with 70s, thanks to five birdies in each round, over the final 36 holes and finished third at 211.
After opening with a 69 Monday, Doggett posted consecutive rounds of 72 to finish fourth at 213.
Chen posted a 70 in the Final Round on Tuesday with a pair of birdies on his final six holes and surged into a tie for eighth with Texas Wesleyan teammates Jesper Brinchmann-Hansen and Colin Price.

Following the UHV Claud Jacobs Invitational, Houston will compete at the Cabo Collegiate at Twin Dolphin Club in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on March 2-4.
The Cougars return to Houston to play host to their All-American Intercollegiate at Golf Club of Houston in. Humble, Texas, on March 17-18.
