Second Half Goals Powers #25 Texas Tech Past Houston

Cougars have a mid-week bye before heading to Cincinnati on Sunday
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Soccer team fell to #25 Texas Tech, 2-0 at the Carl Lewis International Complex on Sunday.
Houston's (3-7-1, 0-5 Big 12) defense held strong in the first half, keeping the Red Raiders (9-2-1, 4-0-1 Big 12) scoreless through the first 45 minutes of play.
Texas Tech got out to a fast start to open the second half as Taylor Zdrojewski's shot ricocheted off the crossbar and into the net in the 46th minute.
The Red Raiders quickly doubled their lead as Peyton Dyess found the bottom right corner for her first career goal.
The Cougars mustered 10 shots with junior defender Laney Gonzales leading the way with three, including a pair of shots on target.
Freshman defender Kayla Smith earned her first career start and redshirt freshman defender Chloe Adams saw her first career minutes as she checked in the 67th minute.
