All-Conference two-way star begins Sales Rep career with Houston’s NIL collective
HOUSTON – Cougar great Justin Murray concluded his collegiate career in May and on Monday was hired at LinkingCoogs as a Sales Representative where he will assist in generating NIL opportunities for University of Houston athletes.
"We are thrilled to welcome Justin Murray to the LinkingCoogs family," President and Co-Founder of LinkingCoogs Austin Elrod said. "He had an incredible baseball career and now will have the ability to show everyone his business mind and skills. He will undoubtedly take the baseball program to new heights through generating NIL opportunities. I am excited to support him along the way."
A 2024 All-Big 12 Second Team selection, Murray was also named a John Olerud Award Semifinalist for the first time in his career and a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District recipient. In his final season as a Cougar, Murray lead Houston with five saves and a 2.18 ERA on the mound while spraying a team-leading 66 hits.
The Charlotte, N.C., native posted a .300-average season for the second-straight year (.328) and finished second on the team in RBI (40) and third on the team in stolen bases (nine). The two-way star concluded his career with the eighth-best career-batting average in Cougar history (.353).
"Justin was a tremendous player for our program and has always represented UH at the highest level," head coach Todd Whitting said. "I am excited he will be a member of the LinkingCoogs team to help create and implement tremendous opportunities for our baseball student athletes."
