Second baseman is second Cougar All-Region selection in past three seasons
HOUSTON – Senior second baseman Harold Coll was named an ABCA/Rawlings All-Region First Team second baseman selection for the Central Region on Tuesday.
The Boston native was the first Cougar since 2008 with a 20 double-10 home run season while leading the team in RBI with 55. Coll stole the second-most bases on the team with 13 while also posting the third-best average (.317), second-most hits (66) and second-best slugging percentage (.601). Coll's 20 doubles ranked sixth in the Big 12 Conference and was the 10th-most nationally.
The second baseman's 55 RBI and 20 doubles ranked fourth in the Big 12. Coll's led the Cougars with 17 multi-hit games and 18 multi-RBI games while becoming one of three Cougars with 11-game hit streaks in 2024.
Coll is the first Cougar to earn All-Region honors as a second baseman and just the fifth infielder to be named All-Region. The team-leader in doubles is Houston's second All-Region selection in the last three years, joining catcher Anthony Tulimero, who was a First Team honoree in 2022.
