Houston belts three homers for second-straight game, Arbolida notches fourth multi-homer game

Senior Cary Arbolida notched his fourth multi-home run game after homering in back-to-back at-bats in the first and third innings. Arbolida's first inning homer drove in three runs before a third inning solo shot. The left fielder drove in four runs in his three-hit game and now has 15 home runs on the year – the most by a Cougar since Joe Davis' 18 in 2019.

Four different Houston (25-25, 7-18 Big 12) hitters had multiple hits and scored four runs in both the first and third innings.

Kansas (28-18, 14-12 Big 12) fought back with a four-run third inning and five-run fourth to take the lead.

Junior Kenneth Jimenez hit his third home run of the season in the fifth inning. Houston has now hit 74 home runs on the season, the most under head coach Todd Whitting and most since the 2000 Cougars hit 75.
