SCOUTING THE SHOCKERS. Wichita State is ranked in the top 80 nationally in 10 categories after the first 13 games. The Shockers rank No. 8 in rebounds per game (45.85), No. 15 in total rebounds (596), No. 16 in offensive rebounds per game (16.1), No. 20 in rebound margin (10.1), No. 23 in defensive rebounds per game (29.8), No. 59 in free throws made (167), No. 74 in steals (119), No. 75 in free throw percentage (74.2), No. 77 in field goal percentage defense (36.9) and No. 79 in free throw attempts (225).
BACK TO PLAY. After having to cancel its game against Southeastern Louisiana and postponed its conference opener against Tulane, Houston returns to action on Wednesday. The Cougars will now open their conference slate against Wichita State before playing its conference home opener on Saturday.
HOME COURT ADVANTAGE. The Cougars are currently 5-0 when playing at home. The streak started with the exhibition against Texas A&M Commerce and then tallied home wins against Howard, New Mexico, Jacksonville State, Louisiana and most recently Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
CONFERENCE PLAY. After canceling its American Conference opener, Houston opens its American Athletic Conference schedule with a match up against the Shockers. Currently, no team has played a conference game.
AGAINST CORPUS CHRISTI. Tatyana Hill led all scorers with 15 points to go with nine rebounds and three steals. Bria Patterson added 10 points with two steals as Dymond Gladney had seven points and five assists with three steals.
