Bayless named VBL Pitcher of the Year, All-VBL First Team; Lockhart Jr. tabbed to Second Team
HOUSTON -- University of Houston Baseball's Tristen Bayless was named the Valley Baseball League Pitcher of the Year, as he and Lael Lockhart Jr. garnered All-Valley League honors, the VLB announced Thursday.
Both Cougars are rising seniors and played for the Woodstock River Bandits currently playing in the VBL postseason.
The All-VBL teams are chosen by a vote of team and media representatives across the Valley.

• Posted a 3-2 record
• Finished second in the VBL in ERA (1.93), opponent batting average (.156) and strikeouts per nine innings (13.8)
• Recorded 50 strikeouts to 21 walks across 32.2 innings pitched

Second Team (1B)
• VBL All-Star
• Batted .342, going 38-for-111 with 11 doubles, seven home runs, 23 walks, 27 RBI, 36 runs scored
• 12 multi-hit games
• 6 multi-RBI games
