HOUSTON -- The University of Houston Baseball team hosts Army in a three-game series at Don Sanders Field at Darryl & Lori Schroeder Park starting Friday.
The Army series marks Military Appreciation Weekend at the ballpark, and fans can purchase $3 tickets using promo code "MILITARY" at UHCougars.com/Tickets.
Games on Friday and Saturday get underway at 6:30 p.m., while the Sunday finale is slated for 1 p.m. Gates open two hours prior to first pitch for every game.

• Houston is looking end a five-game skid. The Cougars' last win came in a 9-7, series-clinching victory over then No. 24 Arizona on Feb. 23.
• Senior designated hitter Rey Fuentes III was named to the Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic All-Tournament Team, the Houston Astros announced Tuesday. Fuentes III batted .300 with one double, one home run, one RBI and three runs scored. The homer, which came against Texas State on Saturday, was the first of his career.
• Junior third baseman Jared Triolo, who has reached base in all 11 games to start the season, leads the team in batting average (.310), on-base percentage (.431), hits (13), walks (8) and runs scored (7).
• Senior first baseman Joe Davis leads the team and is tied for second the American Athletic Conference in home runs (4), tied for fourth in RBI (11), and is fifth in slugging percentage (.674) and tied for fifth in doubles (5).
• Freshman second baseman Brad Burckel is tied for second in the conference in hit by pitch (5), while Houston ranks fourth as a team (13). The Cougars also rank fourth in home runs (10).
• Junior right-handed pitcher Fred Villarreal's streak without allowing an earned run to start the season ended at 13 and one-third innings with two runs surrendered against Rice on Tuesday. He co-led the nation with a 0.00 ERA through Houston's first 10 games. Villarreal enters the weekend leading the team with a 1.26 ERA out of the bullpen.
• Junior righty Devon Roedahl leads the team with a 2-0 record. He picked up both victories over Northwestern State out of the bullpen, tossing three scoreless innings to co-lead the nation with two wins after Opening Weekend. His two wins still co-lead The American.
• Houston is batting .216 as a team and has a 4.97 ERA, compared to opponents' .259 average and 3.68 ERA.
ON ARMY
• The Black Knights enter the with a 5-4 record, highlighted by Air Force, Longwood (two wins), Saint Joseph's and Tulane.
• Batting leadoff, junior centerfield Jacob Hurtubise leads the nation in triples (3). He also leads the Patriot League in walks (11), stolen bases (7) and runs scored (15), ranking third in batting average (.387).
• Sophomore first baseman Anthony Giachin ranks third in the country in doubles (7) and seventh in RBI (16). Giachin was the 2018 Patriot League Rookie of the Year and League Championship MVP.
• Friday and Saturday starters Tyler Giovinco (2-0) and Sam Messina (2-1) co-lead the Patriot League with two wins. Both have 15 strikeouts.
• Offensively, Army leads its conference in batting average (.303), on-base percentage (.425), slugging percentage (.424), hits (90), walks (62), RBI (62), runs scored (72) and stolen bases (23). Pitching, the Black Knights hold the top mark in strikeouts (72) and earned runs allowed (30).
• The Black Knights won the Patriot League in 2018 and were picked to repeat as champions in the 2019 League Preseason Poll.
• Army is batting .303 as a team and has a 3.46 ERA, compared to opponents' .241 average and 7.76 ERA.
ON DECK
Following the weekend, the Cougars close their homestand with a 6:30 p.m., Tuesday matchup with UTSA.

Gameday parking is offered in a different capacity than in prior years. Anyone entering Lot 16B (across the street from right field) will be subjected to paying a third party company employed by campus. This lot will no longer be an option for free parking on gamedays. All other lots surrounding the stadium will be free of charge two hours prior to first pitch.
