HOUSTON -- White defeated Red, 12-2, in the University of Houston Baseball program's Red-White Game on Friday night at Don Sanders Field at Darryl &Â Lori Schroeder Park.
Sophomore Ron Brown went 2-for-4 with two three-run home runs to be named the Player of the Game.
KEY INNINGS
1st | White plated two runs in the opening frame. Cougars Brad Burkel and Tyler Bielamowicz each singled through the infield to lead things off. Junior Jared Triolo followed with an infield single to plate Burkel, and two batters later, Bielamowicz came home on a RBI groundout from sophomore Jordan Gochenour.
2nd | Senior Rey Fuentes III made it 3-0 with a leadoff home run in the top of the second.
4th | Brown doubled the score to 6-0 with a two-out, three-run homer down the left-field line in the fourth.
5th | Senior Joe Davis tacked on two more runs with a two-RBI double in the top of the fifth. In the bottom frame, Red got on the board with two runs. Freshman Derrick Cherry hit a first-pitch, solo home run, and freshman Ty Abraham singled to center field to deliver sophomore Kyle Lovelace and make it 8-2.
7th | In the seventh, a Triolo sacrifice fly made it 9-2.
8th | Brown hit his second three-run home run of the game in the top of the eighth for the 12-2 final.
WHITE NOTES
Offensive:
• Ron Brown finished 2-for-4 with two three-run home runs.
• Brad Burkel led all with three hits, including two bunt singles, and a pair of stolen bases.
• Tyler Bielamowicz finished with two hits and two runs scored.
• Rey Fuentes III hit a solo home run and added two walks and three runs scored.
• Landon Etzel and Joe Davis recorded hits, respectively.
Pitching:
• Devon Roedahl tossed three scoreless innings in the start, limiting Red to one hit and recording three strikeouts.
• Hunter Edwards surrendered two runs on three hits with two walks and two strikeouts in two innings of work.
• Tanner Green logged two and one-third scoreless innings out of the bullpen, issuing one hit and one walk while fanning three.
• Brown struck out both batters he faced in the eighth.
• Brayson Hurdsman and Ryan Randel closed out the game with one scoreless inning each.
RED NOTES
Offensive:
• Drew Minter recorded a two-out double in the bottom of the first.
• Derrick Cherry hit a first-pitch, solo home run in bottom of the fifth, and Ty Abraham had an RBI single later in the inning.
• Wendell Champion II and Grayson Padgett also recorded base hits in the loss.
Pitching:
• Cole McMillan recorded a scoreless ninth inning with two strikeouts.
• Sean Bretz, Jared Pettitte, Nolan Bond, Tristan McDonough and Cherry also pitched in the game.

Fans wishing to become a new season ticket member will have the opportunity to purchase in January 2019.
PARKING IN 2019
Gameday parking will be offered in a different capacity than in prior years. Anyone entering Lot 16B (across the street from right field) will be subjected to paying a third party company employed by campus. This lot will no longer be an option for free parking on gamedays. All other lots surrounding the stadium will be free of charge two hours prior to first pitch.
