Q: When did you start playing baseball?
CM: I started playing baseball when I was three years old. My father strapped a glove on my hand and it has been a part of my life ever since.
Q: Who was your role model growing up?
CM: My role model on the field as I was growing up were players like Lance Berkman and Jeff Bagwell because they were the guys I would watch on tv. Off the field, my role model has been my father because he's the one who pushed me to be who I am today.
Q: If you could be brothers with any of your teammates, who would it be?
CM: Well, I have became "brothers" with Mitchell Ullom because he is my roommate and we have grown pretty close to each other.
Q: Did you play any other sports growing up?
CM: I played a little bit of football growing up but baseball has always been the sport I have loved the most.
Q: Why was the University of Houston the right fit for you?
CM: The University of Houston was the right fit for me because it is close to home and I feel as if this university is going to give me so many opportunities on the field and off the field.
Q: If you could eat lunch with anyone (dead or alive), who would it be and why?
CM: If I could eat lunch with anybody it would probably my boy Mike Trout because he is, in my opinion, the best player in baseball and he's fairly close to my age.
Q: If you owned a food truck, what would it be called and what would you serve?
CM: If I owned a food truck it would most definitely be named "Caleb's Coney Island" and I would serve the best hot dogs in the nation.
Q: If a former coach or teammate were asked to describe you, what would they say?
CM: Former teammates and/or coaches would describe me as a very hard worker that is a good teammate that loves to win.
Q: Who is your favorite MLB player and why?
CM: My favorite professional athlete is Mike Trout just because of what he's doing right now in the game of baseball considering how young he is.
Q: What are you looking forward to most during your freshman season?
CM: I'm looking forward to helping the team out in whatever way I can and playing my role. Also I'm looking forward to getting closer with my teammates and winning a national championship.
