Jordan Lewis Joins Baseball Team For 2011 Season

HOUSTON - University of Houston baseball head coach Rayner Noble and his staff announced the signing of Jordan Lewis to a National Letter of Intent on Friday.
Lewis joins the program after spending two seasons at Western Nevada College. During his first season at WNC in 2009, the left-handed pitcher finished with a 12-2 record and a 1.99 ERA while being named the team's Pitcher of the Year. In addition, he was a World Series All-American and a Region XVIII First Team selection. In 2010, the Phoenix, Ore., native finished with a 2-4 record in eight starts. He tossed 42.1 innings, allowing 30 runs with 15 walks and 41 strikeouts.
Lewis graduated from Phoenix High School where he played baseball for Joe Hagler. He was a two-time winner of the Regional Most Valuable Player award and was the runner-up for the Pitcher of the Year award. Lewis, the son of Brian and Terry Lewis, was a member of the National Honor Society and completed school with perfect attendance.
