Cougar Tennis Slips Below Rice

Houston, Texas - The Cougars battled to a 4-3 match with the Owls on Tuesday in their last match of the year. With Sarah Borwell still unable to play, the Cougars put up a valiant effort in the rival matchup taking the first three games in singles play and the top doubles win.
In the first singles match of the contest, Jen Baccarani defeated Natalie Briaud 6-3, 6-1 for her thirteenth singles win of the season. Jo Kenne took the win from Yasmin Fisher in two sets, both 6-2 to make her regular season win total seventeen and Analia Longoni challenged Jeri Gonzales for the win in three sets.
The doubles pair of Jo Keene and Jen Baccarani earned the fourth win of the match from Jeri Gonzales and Yasmin Fisher 8-6.
The Cougar tennis team will travel to Fort Worth where TCU will be hosting the 2002 Conference USA Women's Tennis Championships from April 18-21. Houston enters as the fourth seed and will take on 13 Seed, Charlotte on Thursday at 12:00pm in the first round.
