Indoor: Was the runner-up to teammate Ron Veillon in the heptathlon with a career-best 5,105 points...placed third in the pole vault at the UH All-Comers Meet after clearing a season-best 4.25 meters (13-11.25). Outdoor: Was Houston[apos]s top finisher in the decathlon with a fourth-place showing after scoring 6,626 points at the Conference USA Championships. 2004
Indoor: Had Houston[apos]s best time in the 400 meters with a 49.59 seconds at the Arkansas Invitational...posted a season-best time in the 60-meter hurdles of 9.60 seconds at the Houston Invitational. Outdoor: Member of the 4x400 meter relay team that finished fifth at the TSU Relays. 2003
Indoor: Had Houston[apos]s best time in the 400 meters...had a time of 22.64 seconds at the Houston Invitational, where he finished in 10th place. Outdoor: Had a season-best time of 53.27 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles at the Texas Relays...finished in third place at the Texas Southern Relays and Tom Tellez Invitational.

Was a fourth-place finisher in the 400-meter hurdles at the USA Junior National Championships...ran track for St. Joseph[apos]s High School where he was coached by his father Meme Garza...received All-State, All-Valley and All-District honors...was named to the Metro Team...also played for St. Joseph[apos]s football team where he earned All-State Runner-up, All-Valley and All-District accolades as well as being named to the Metro Team.

Born August 18, 1983 in Brownsville, Texas...son of Meme and Beth Garza...brother, Mike, played football at Texas Lutheran University...also recruited by the U.S. Naval Academy,
Nebraska and Notre Dame...chose to attend UH because of the schools academic and track programs.
