Levesque Places Fifth in Decathlon, Earns First Team All-America Honors at NCAA Championships

Grant Levesque becomes the first Houston decathlete since 1987 to earn All-America honors
EUGENE, Ore. – Senior Grant Levesque placed fifth in the decathlon and earned First Team All-America honors at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday.
Levesque earned First Team honors for the first time in his career with a fifth-place finish, scoring 7,797 points. He is the fifth Cougar and first Houston decathlete since 1987 to earn All-America honors. He joins Richard LaCombe (1977, 2nd), Wes Herbst (1979, 4th), David Saye (1981, 5th) and Harry Clark (1987, 8th).
The senior began the day with a personal best time of 13.99 in the 110-meter hurdles, finishing second. Levesque followed with another personal best in the shot put, placing sixth with a mark of 41.69m. He closed the evening with a final personal best in the 1500m, clocking 4:40.65 to finish 13th.
Levesque placed fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 4.81m and finished 19th in the javelin with a throw of 45.73m.
