Cougars win third conference game in Big 12 for the first time

HOUSTON — The University of Houston Soccer team continued Big 12 Conference play with a 1-0 win over Oklahoma State at Carl Lewis International Complex on Sunday afternoon.

Houston (7-1-3, 3-0 Big 12) started Big 12 play 3-0 for the first time in program history while opening conference play with three-straight wins for the first time since 2010. It's the first time Houston has won three-straight conference games since 2021.

The win also marked the Cougars' first over Oklahoma State (5-4-2, 1-2 Big 12) and its first shutout of the Cowgirls in the series history.

The lone goal of the game came in the 41st minute when junior Skylar Miller scored her second header and sixth goal of the season after assists from fifth years Morgan Donohue and Peyton Machado.

The Cougars held the Cowgirls to just seven shots on the afternoon with zero on target.

UP NEXT
Houston wraps up its homestand hosting #10 West Virginia at 7 p.m. Friday for its annual Pink Game and Alumni Match at the Carl Lewis International Complex.

Program alumni will be recognized at halftime with its full alumni weekend to be held in the spring.
