Big 12 Championship action begins at 11 a.m., CT Thursday in Tucson, Ariz.
TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Houston Track & Field program begins postseason action with the 2026 Big 12 Outdoor Track & Field Championship at Drachman Stadium, hosted by Arizona, from Thursday to Saturday.

Thursday action begins at 1 p.m. CT with the decathlon, followed by the heptathlon at 2 p.m. CT. All three days will be streamed on ESPN+.

2026 OUTDOOR RECAP
Houston saw 66 first-place finishes while setting three school records in the men's shot put, hammer throw and 1500m. Fifteen Cougars and two relay squads entered the Top-10 program mark list during the outdoor season.

Houston has 31 Top-10 marks in the league across men's and women's track and field. The Cougars lead the league in three events, with freshman Sean Aigboboh posting the fastest time in the 200m at 20.27, junior Cordell Nwokeji in the shot put with a school record mark of 19.77m, and redshirt sophomore Ty Lott's school record hammer throw mark of 66.89m.

In the USTFCCCA rankings, the men's squad is ranked No. 31 in the nation and the men's 200-meter squad ranks third overall.
