Houston Track & Field Sets Program Record With 23 USTFCCCA All-Academic Honorees

Both programs earn consecutive All-Academic Team honors

NEW ORLEANS – A program-record 23 University of Houston Track & Field student-athletes earned United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors, the organization announced on Monday. In addition to these honors, both sides were awarded All-Academic Team status.

The 23 student-athletes are the most in program history, surpassing the 18 who earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors in 2021.

The women's squad earned All-Academic Team honors for a fourth consecutive year with a GPA of 3.40. The men's program received its second consecutive All-Academic Team honors with a 3.13 GPA.

The women's side saw individual honors for sophomore Sydney Freeman, freshman Shieana Hall, senior Zaeda Houff, senior Ali Mack, sophomore Invida Maurina, junior Esther Osisike, sophomore Evina Panagiotou, junior Nicole Prall, senior Miracle Thompson and freshman Kamree Wolridge.

Sophomore Remay Abraha, junior Mouhameth Fall, freshman Dominic Harper, senior Louie Hinchliffe, freshman William King IV, graduate Grant Levesque, sophomore Owen Levesque, redshirt sophomore Ty Lott, senior Jamar Marshall Jr., freshman Zac Miller, graduate Ryan Mulholland, junior Jaelyn Reeves-Lile and senior Anthony Trucks earned All-Academic recognition on the men's side.

ABOUT THE AWARD
To earn individual All-Academic status, student-athletes must own a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher along with meeting a standard of athletic achievement in one of two ways:

Indoor: Student-athletes must have finished the season ranked in the top 96 in any championship individual event or the top 48 in any championship relay event, certifiable by their place on final season performance lists on TFRRS.
Outdoor: Student-athletes must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships (the Preliminary Championship Competition and/or the Final Championship Competition) or must have finished the season ranked in the top 48, certifiable by their place on final season performance lists on TFRRS.
