Houston concludes its indoor regular season this weekend
HOUSTON and ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of Houston Track & Field program closes the indoor regular season by hosting the Howie Ryan Invitational on Friday at the LLH Healthcare Indoor Track inside Yeoman Fieldhouse while three Cougars head to New Mexico for the Don Kirby Invitational scheduled for Friday and Saturday.

The Howie Ryan Invitational begins Friday at 10 a.m. with field events and running events at 12:30 p.m.

At the Don Kirby Invitational, junior Antrea Mita will compete in the men's high jump at 6:30 p.m. CT, Friday. On Saturday, graduate Jamar Marshall Jr. will compete in the men's 60-meter hurdles with prelims at 11 a.m. CT and finals at 2:45 p.m. CT. Sophomore Evina Panagiotou will compete in the women's pole vault scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT: CHARLIE THOMAS INVITATIONAL
- Last weekend at the Charlie Thomas Invitational, Houston earned seven victories, two second-place finishes and two third-place finishes.
- Sophomore Esther Osisike collected the first victory of the weekend with a mark of 19.84m in the women's weight throw. Senior Zaeda Houff placed third with a mark of 17.70m.
- Junior Cordell Nwokeji won the men's shot put with a personal best mark of 19.25m. He moved up three spots to fourth on Houston's all-time list with this mark.
- Junior Antrea Mita earned his second victory of the season with a season-best mark of 2.18m to win the men's high jump.
- Freshman Dominic Harper ran a personal best time of 20.64 for second place in the men's 200-meter. Harper is now fourth on Houston's all-time list and is the first Cougar freshman to run under 20.70.
- Sophomore Cleo Agyepong recorded a victory in the women's shot put with a personal best mark of 16.72m. This mark is good for third in program history.Â
- Osisike posted a personal best mark of 15.57m in the women's shot put and moved up to sixth on the all-time program list.Â
- Freshman Shi'eana Hall earned her first collegiate victory in the women's triple jump with a personal best mark of 12.67m.Â
- Graduate Jamar Marshall Jr. made his return to the track with a win in the men's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.63.Â
- Freshman Zac Miller won the men's mile with a personal best of 3:59.97. Miller is the third Cougar in program history to run a sub-four-mile, joining Brian Barraza and Leonard Hilton.Â
- Redshirt freshman Addison Hite moved up second on Houston's all-time program list in the women's mile with a time of 4:46.51.Â
- Sophomore Evina Panagiotou elevated the women's pole vault school record with a new personal best mark of 4.25m.Â
- The women's 4x400-meter relay team of sophomore Carlysia Cresser, junior Michaela Mouton, freshman Jada Stanford and freshman Kamree Wolridge closed out the weekend with a time of 3:35.85 for third place.Â
