Grant Doggett, Wolfgang Glawe Set for U.S. Amateur Championship

Houston Men’s Golf duo tees off at The Olympic Club in San Francisco on Monday
SAN FRANCISCO – University of Houston Men's Golfers Grant Doggett and Wolfgang Glawe open play at the U.S. Amateur Championship when they tee off at The Olympic Club on Monday.
Glawe earned his place in the nation's top amateur event as a Top-100 points leader in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
Doggett made his way through two rounds of qualifying rounds to earn his place. After posting a 66 to tie for the lead in the first stage at Eagle Pointe Golf Club in Mont Belvieu, Texas, on June 18, the junior-to-be tie for fifth with a 67 during the final stage at BraeBurn Country Club in Houston on July 14.
This will be the first time that either Cougar has competed at the U.S. Amateur Championship.
It also marks the seventh straight season and the 12th time in the last 13 years that at least one Cougar has competed at the prestigious event. A year ago, junior-to-be Chi Chun Chen played at Hazeltine National Golf Golf Club in Hazeltine, Minn.

TEE TIMES
For the first two rounds of stroke play, Doggett will compete in groups with Ryan Terry and Cooper Schulz.
That groups opens play off No. 9 on the Lake Course at The Olympic Club at 2:46 p.m. (CDT) Monday and begins the Second Round off No. 1 on the Ocean Course at 9:31 a.m. (CDT) Tuesday.
Glawe will play in a group with Josh Duangmanee and Emil Riegger off No. 9 on the Lake Course at The Olympic Club at 2:25 p.m. (CDT) Monday. The group's Second Round begins off No. 1 on the Ocean Course at 9:10 a.m. (CDT) Tuesday.
ON the BAG
Jerami Waddell, a friend, will caddy for Doggett while Glawe will carry his bag himself at the U.S. Amateur Championship.
ABOUT GRANT DOGGETT
Doggett competed in 31 rounds across 10 tournaments in 2024-25. He finished with a 73.87 average and added 12 rounds of par or better, including three in the 60s.
The Beach City, Texas, native finished fourth with a score of 3-under 213 at the UHV Claud Jacobs Invitational in late February, thanks to a 69 in the First Round.
He added a ninth-place showing at the Aggie Invitational in mid-April, firing a 71 in the Second Round.
ABOUT WOLFGANG GLAWE
Glawe was a consistent leader for the Cougars throughout the 2024-25 season.
Majoring in sports administration, the St. Leon-Rot, Germany, native led the Cougars with a 71.13 scoring average and stood second with 16 rounds of par or better, including a team-high 11 in the 60s.
Glawe led Houston with three Top-Five finishes, including third-place showings at the All-American Intercollegiate at Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas, and at the Big 12 Championships at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Okla. For the latter performance, he was named to the Big 12 Championships All-Tournament Team for the first time in his career.
He was named to the Spring Academic All-Big 12 Conference Team and was recognized as a Cobalt All-America Scholar. Glawe received his bachelor's degree in May.
