Cougars and Knights meet for the regular season finale at 2 p.m., Sunday
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Women's Basketball program will honor six seniors Sunday afternoon as the Cougars conclude the regular season at 2 p.m., Sunday against UCF inside Fertitta Center.
Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 1:35 p.m., for the pregame ceremony as Houston celebrates Leilani Augmon, Laila Blair, Maliyah Johnson, Eylia Love, Peyton McFarland and Kateri Poole.

THE GAME
- Sunday marks the 32nd all-time meeting between Houston and UCF.
- UCF leads the series, 23-8.
- Houston looks to snap its 11-game losing streak and pick up its second conference win of the season.
- In its last meeting, Houston played with only five players as UCF earned its first Big 12 victory of the season, 70-56 (Feb. 1, 2025).
- Leilani Augmon, Maliyah Johnson, Laila Blair, Kateri Poole, Eylia Love and Peyton McFarland will be recognized during the pregame senior ceremony.
- Johnson and Poole are set to return next season after sitting out this season due to injury.
- Gigi Cooke posted a career-high 25 points as Houston fell 91-56 to #10/8 TCU on Wednesday inside Schollmaier Arena.
- The Cougars were led in scoring by Cooke's 25 points for her sixth-straight game in double figures and 17th double-digit outing this season. Laila Blair scored 15 points and is now 16 away from surpassing Sharion Higgins' 1,957 career points to move up to second on Houston's all-time scoring list.
- The Cougars return six players from the 2023-24 roster: Kierra Merchant, Gigi Cooke, Avalon Miller, Maliyah Johnson, Peyton McFarland and All-Big 12 Conference Honorable Mention, Laila Blair.
- On Feb. 15 against Colorado, Blair surpassed Porsche Landry's 121 starts for most games started in program history (Feb. 15, 2025). She has now started in 125 games.
- On Jan. 22, Blair became Houston's record holder for 3-pointers made. She now has 250 career 3-pointers and is also No. 1 for most minutes played in program history at 4,287 minutes.
- On Jan. 11, Blair moved up to third on Houston's all-time scoring list. She has 1,942 career points and needs 16 points to move into second to surpass Sharion Higgins' 1,957 points.
- Avalon Miller (Achilles), Maliyah Johnson (ACL) and Kateri Poole (ACL) are out for the season.
- Guard Leilani Augmon suffered a broken nose against Baylor (Jan. 17). The guard had surgery on Jan. 27 and made her return to the court on Feb. 22 against Arizona.
