PREVIEW: Women’s Basketball Hosts Arizona on Saturday

HOUSTON – The University of Houston Women's Basketball program is back at home for the first time in two weeks as it welcomes Arizona for its annual Play4Kay game at 7 p.m., Saturday inside Fertitta Center.

Fans are encouraged to wear pink to support the fight against cancer. Fans in attendance will receive a free pink t-shirt and Play4Kay buttons while supplies last.

THE GAME

Houston and Arizona meet for the second time in series history, the first time in Houston and the first time as Big 12 Conference foes.
Saturday marks the lone regular season meeting between Houston and Arizona.
Houston returns to Fertitta Center for the first time in two weeks and looks to pick up its first win since a 79-76 victory against #24/rv Oklahoma State (Jan. 14).
Arizona is 5-5 overall on the road and 3-4 during Big 12 road games.

LAST TIME OUT

Houston dropped a 64-53 road battle to Iowa State on Wednesday evening inside Hilton Coliseum.
Laila Blair and Gigi Cooke each scored 13 points while Peyton McFarland scored 10 points and had a season-high three blocks.
Eylia Love had a career-high seven assists against the Cyclones.

On Jan. 11, Blair moved up to third on Houston's all-time scoring list. She has 1,906 career points and needs 52 points to move into second to surpass Sharion
Higgins' 1,957 points.
Avalon Miller (Achilles), Maliyah Johnson (ACL) and Kateri Poole (ACL) are out for the season.
Guard Leilani Augmon suffered a broken nose against Baylor (Jan. 17). The guard had surgery on Jan. 27 and is expected to return mid-to-late February.
